The national director of the Judiciary Police (PJ) stated today that the police investigation into the case of suspected corruption in Madeira is not “under control”, but admitted concern “in view of what was expected”.
“No, it doesn’t call into question our work, we know what we are doing, we are confident in what we are doing, we are convinced and very motivated in the work we have been carrying out for years in this investigation. What I want to say and convey as national director, I have complete confidence in the team that investigates these facts”, said the national director of the PJ, Luís Neves, in statements to journalists.
Luís Neves, who was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony for 84 new PJ inspectors, which took place today at the national headquarters in Lisbon, also said that “there are no frustrations” regarding the court’s decision at the end of the first judicial interrogation.
The national director of the PJ expressed his “complete confidence, security and serenity” in the investigation, but admitted concern.
“We are worried, naturally, given the operation we launched, given what was expected, the court decisions must be respected, there are mechanisms and what is certain is that the investigation continues, and it is certain that there will be no decision made here in judged”, said Luís Neves.
Recalling that the Public Ministry (MP) has already announced an appeal against the coercive measures, he also said that the investigation is neither closed nor archived.
“This happens in investigations and in the paths. Investigating is a path, this path will be followed without the PJ deviating one millimeter from its objectives, which is to clarify the truth”, said the national director.
I wonder if we will ever know the truth, or even part of it.?
