Trapalhão Parade takes to the streets tomorrow with prizes for the best

It’s tomorrow, starting at 4 pm, that another Trapalhão Parade will begin. As part of the Carnival festivities promoted by the Regional Secretariat of Tourism and Culture, through the Regional Directorate of Tourism, this parade aims to be a representation of what was originally done in the first half of the 20th century.

“The creativity, imagination and talent of the participants have no limits and the themes presented range from social and political satire, to traditional, and to the simple disguise of characterization. To the rhythm of two philharmonic bands, this parade of ironies promises to infect the public in an atmosphere of euphoria, fun and a lot of sense of humor, with the Philharmonic Band of the Casa do Povo de São Vicente at the opening, preceded by a group of entertainers who awaken the spirit of revelry in the public for the celebration that follows”.

Participation is open to everyone, national and foreign, and can be done individually, in pairs or in groups in different categories: Adult classes, Children, Groups, from which the Best Theme, Animation, School Entertainment and Solidarity Entertainment are chosen; Trapalhão and Transvestite. Prizes will be awarded to the best (see attached image).

Those interested in applying for the prizes should register tomorrow, between 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm, on Avenida Francisco Sá Carneiro in front of Vespas Nightclub.

The Cortejo Trapalhão awards will be presented at 6pm on the stage at Praça da Restauração.

It should also be noted that the Trapalhão Parade starts from Avenida Francisco Sá Carneiro, traveling along Rotunda Francisco Sá Carneiro, Avenida do Mar and Comunidades Madeirans (south lane), to Praça da Autonomia.
