Easter will feature a Crafts Fair in Porto Santo

The Easter Fair starts today, promoted by the Porto Santo City Council, which already has new spaces for the sale of handicrafts that were acquired by the municipality. Until April 7th, this fair in the heart of Vila Baleira will have ten spaces available for selling various local products, such as handicrafts, jewelry, sweets, liqueurs, among others.

“Fairs are a tradition everywhere and play an important role not only in cultural development, but also in economic development. They represent places for exchanging and disseminating knowledge, where it is possible to purchase specific and traditional products from the hands of those who produced them and talk to these people. For me, the most important characteristic of fairs is dialogue, it’s the story behind the object, it’s the person” said Nuno Batista, president of the City Council.

The next fairs are already scheduled and will take place between the 14th and 24th of June, during the Municipal Festivals, from the 25th of June to the 30th of September, the usual summer fair and finally from the 13th to the 15th of December, the Christmas market.
