Another bad Monday for the airport. The wind seems no worse than all of last week, but I think a slight change in direction and the problems stay.
The wind that is felt in the Region has, since this morning, been affecting air traffic at Madeira Airport.
Since 08:00, two flights to the Region have been cancelled, one from Porto and the other from New York, scheduled to arrive at 08:55.
Between 12:45 pm and 2:50 pm, 11 flights were already diverted, which will also affect departures.
The wind seems to be persistent, and flights are still circling, with 4 planes waiting to land at the monent.
A TUI flight, one of the diverted this morning has just managed to land from Porto Santo.
