Miguel Albuquerque renews confidence

Leader of PSD Madeira since 2014, he won 54.3% of the votes.

This Thursday, March 21st, Miguel Albuquerque renewed his confidence as leader of PSD Madeira by winning 2,243 (54.3%) of the votes in the party’s internal elections.

The opponent, Manuel António Correia, collected 1,856 (44.9%) of the votes. 

In the first reaction to the result, Miguel Albuquerque assures that the internal elections “set an example of participation, civic and political responsibility” with a participation rate of 94% in a universe of 4,388 activists qualified to vote.

The vote took place “smoothly and civilly”, highlights the leader of PSD Madeira.

“The PSD’s opponents are not within the PSD”, says Albuquerque, remembering that this election “was very important because it mobilized people, because people were free to choose the leader they wanted for the party”.
