Pico do Areeiro is painted white, following the fall of hail/snow, in what is one of the highest points on the island of Madeira. At this time, access has already been cut off for security reasons.
In the images captured by Edna Silva it is possible to see the amount of snow that has fallen over the last few hours in Madeira and which, consequently, attracts many curious people.
According to some reports on social media, early in the morning the access was already somewhat slippery, so caution was recommended when traveling. However, authorities chose to close access by road.
