Rabaçal routes will be paid for from next year. The base cost will be set at 2 euros and Madeirans will be exempt.
In addition to these, the Balcões route, as had already been made public, will now be taxed, in the same way as access to Pico do Areeiro, regardless of whether or not you follow the trail that connects to Pico Ruivo.
There will be discounts for groups or families.
Rafaela Fernandes, who was speaking this morning at the Ecos Machico conference, points to this charge as a way of minimizing the impacts of human overload that has been felt in many of these places.
The Ponta de São Lourenço route will also see an increase in the fare, which is currently one euro, and the same amount will be charged as will be applied to Rabaçal and Balcões.
