“Environmentally friendly” ship brought mostly French

The ship ‘Le Dumont D´Urville’ returned today to the port of Funchal, to complete a 32-hour stopover. Its departure is only scheduled for 7pm tomorrow, Wednesday, towards Lagos, in the Algarve.

150 passengers arrived on board, almost all of them French, and 114 crew members. Before that, the ship visited the Canary Islands. 

The last 10 ports he visited were La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife, Las Palmas, La Estaca in El Hierro, again, La Gomera and La Palma, as well as the Port of Los Cristianos in Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

The website of Ponant, the ship’s company, says that “Le Dumont-d’Urville belongs to a new generation of ships equipped with innovative equipment and designed to be environmentally friendly.”

This is another expedition ship, which visits the most remote places on the planet and at the same time, offers passengers luxury services.
