The Pestana Hotel Group announced today that it has acquired the property where the Quinta Perestrello hotel previously operated, in Funchal.
As recalled in a note sent to the editors, the hotel had closed its operations at the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020 and did not open its doors again.
“The property that will be requalified is part of a group of Madeiran farms converted into hotels, which, having undergone a modernization process, have maintained their unique charm and welcoming environment”, highlights the group, which further emphasizes that this acquisition “is aligned with the strategy that has been developed over the last few years” of recovering heritage in privileged locations-
The objective is also to contribute to the rehabilitation of emblematic buildings, the enhancement of built heritage and the historical preservation of Funchal and Madeira.
