The renowned musician Eric Clapton has already bought a house in Madeira. According to Vidas magazine, one of the most famous guitarists in the world, aged 79, purchased a house in Bom Sucesso for the value of 1.5 million euros.
DIÁRIO discovered, however, that the property in question belongs to the well-known plastic surgeon Manuel Figueiroa, who had already traveled to London to attend a concert by the celebrated musician, at the Royal Albert Hall, at his invitation.
According to the national publication, the property has a gross area of 506 m2 and 1000 meters of land. Eric Clapton’s new home has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and a garage for ten cars. It is described by the real estate agency as being a “fantastic villa, located in a quiet area, with lots of privacy and panoramic views over the bay of Funchal”.
According to the publication, it is a type of typical Madeiran farm, due to its traditional architectural features and the use of basalt stone in the interior .
Eric Clapton was in Madeira last February for a short time, but long enough to have fallen in love with the island and Manuel Figueiroa’s house.
The musician is considered one of the most influential and successful guitarists in the history of rock. Clapton was ranked second on Rolling Stone ‘s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and fourth on Gibson’s ‘Top 50 Guitarists of All Time’.
