In the early afternoon of this Saturday, June 1st, the vessel assigned to the Porto Moniz Lifeguard Station was activated to rescue two individuals who were in the area of ​​the natural pools of Seixal.

A 34-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, of American nationality, were surprised by a wave and swept out to sea. “A member of the public, who witnessed the situation, threw two buoys to provide buoyancy”, says SANAS Madeira, in a post on social media.

“They were picked up, visibly shaken, by the lifeboat and transported to the Seixal pier where two ambulances were waiting to transport them to the health unit”, he concludes.
