The brothers from São Tomé and Príncipe will be on stage today at 10pm at the 37th edition of Machico Gastronomic Week, being the first headliners of the 10 days of entertainment at the event, which combines music and gastronomy.
For this kick-off, the expectation is for a packed house with the voices of António Mendes Ferreira and Fradique Mendes Ferreira who, as is typical, promise to involve the audience in a concert in which African rhythms blend with modern sounds.
From the hits ‘Te Amo’ to ‘Vai’, including ‘Onde Anda’ and ‘A Nossa Vez’, the duo is expected to draw a crowd to the heart of the municipality, this being, in fact, the first time that the artists perform on Machiquense soil.
Official opening at 7:30 pm
Before the spotlight falls on Calema, there will still be a lot to happen, starting with the official opening of the event which will take place at 7:30 pm, with entertainment from the Banda Municipal de Machico and the Banda Filarmónica de Mogadouro.
This will be followed by a performance by Catarina Melim and her band (8:30 pm), preceding the headliners’ show, on a night that will culminate with the sounds of DJ Sil, who takes over from midnight.
