The fire that broke out yesterday morning in Serra de Água is relentless and has already spread to the Espigão and Trompica areas, in Ribeira Brava.
There are currently 10 members of the Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol Mixed Firefighters and five from the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters on site, supported by four fire-fighting vehicles.
The multi-mission helicopter from the Regional Civil Protection Service has also returned to the field and is carrying out some water discharges to stop the flames, on this yellow warning day where temperatures promise to continue to rise.
As reported by DIÁRIO, the helicopter had to abort the mission yesterday afternoon due to the strong winds in Serra de Água, which did not offer safe conditions.
This is one of the three fires with the highest incidence in the Region this year.
