A lifeguard recently helped an elderly woman who was in difficulty inside the natural pool at Reis Magos beach, in Caniço de Baixo.
The sudden strong waves led the woman to ask for help, and the flag has been changed from green to yellow.
The current is pretty strong along the south east coast today, as praia Garajau also has the yellow flag flying, and people have need help getting out of the water.
