Young man falls into a stream while canyoning

The Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters were called out this morning to help a young man aged around 20 who fell into the Ribeira das Cales while canyoning.

The alert indicates that the victim fell into a stream, and the corporation went to the scene with its rescue team, with nine members and an ambulance.

      Better shut up.
      Do you think anyone is having an accident on purpose?
      Will you forbid canyoning?
      Hiking?
      Driving on the street?
      Leaving the house?
      Where do you start, where do you end?
      You can’t imagine what an economic factor canyoning is on the island.

      1. Let me tell you all, I understand the point where Elaine Platts stands as Paul Lawrence.
        Certain sports don’t offer much danger nor adrenaline.
        I any of us go to a sport event we see first responders (from security to heath care) which are paid by the organization not by the government that is supported by the money that come from working tax payers, business taxes, and consumer taxes (all together).
        Deny an help is not in question, the thing is a bill should be issued from the emergency aid (ambulance and hospital costs)
        Where live, if have to use any medical facility I will pay for any aspiring, band aid, any vial and syringe.
        If people became accountable for them acts, voluntary or not, they would have (sometimes) to be more cautious.
        Michael, about your last sentence “You can’t imagine what an economic factor canyoning is on the island.” I would like to know because unfortunately I’m one of those that can’t imagine the economy around it.
        It may bring a bunch of TikTok’er’s that make some money out of internet like many “influencers” but will not pay tax to those localities.
        And, it’s on my believe that “influencers” fill the deck of low cost flights carrying a backpack only. They go around the island buy food in convenience store, leaving trash all over unappropriated places, some pooping on “Levadas” and so on.

        Anyway me and others (I believe) would be waiting for an information on “economic factor canyoning is on the island.”

        Michael, please give a brake, Elaine, myself and many others are just sad of the nature loss that is just happening this last week and not seeing an urgency from the “executives” it’s like a metaphor on it.
