A container was detached from a truck a few moments ago, when the truck was heading towards Santa Cruz-Funchal and ‘jumped’ into the other lane.
Apparently the container did not hit any cars, but it caused damage to the railing, and the other drivers who were traveling in Caniço de Baixo at that time were not aware of what happened, although some debris had fallen on to the road below.
Traffic is very congested in the Funchal-Santa Cruz direction.
