94 New Cases For Madeira.

There are another 94 new positive cases to report in Madeira this Sunday, so the Region now counts 5,178 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic. There are 91 cases of local transmission and three imported cases (1 from the Lisbon Region and Tagus valley and 2 from the Northern Region of Portugal).

Today there are also 118 more recovered cases to report, so there are 1,982 active cases, of which 101 are imported cases and 1881 are locally transmitted.

Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 76 people are hospitalized at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (68 people in Multipurpose Units and 8 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) and 46 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation.

Additionally, three patients diagnosed with COVID-19, coming from the continental territory (Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Region), remain in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19, at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, since January 30.

In total, there are 170 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
