Heavy rain throughout this Monday

Madeira is under red warning due to the heavy rain that will hit the archipelago (South Coast and Mountainous Regions) over this Monday. According to the forecast of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere, the day will be very cloudy and there will be periods of rain or showers, sometimes heavy, being persistent until mid-afternoon. There are also favorable conditions for thunderstorms.

It’s certainly persistent in Caniço de Baixo right now….

As for the wind, it will blow from moderate to strong (25 to 40 km / h) from south / southeast, sometimes with gusts up to 70 km / h, turning to the west quadrant from the afternoon and becoming weak to moderate (10 to 30 km / h). In the highlands, there will be strong wind (40 to 50 km / h) from the south quadrant, with gusts up to 90 km / h until mid-afternoon, turning to the west quadrant from the afternoon. Even so, the IPMA predicts a small rise in temperature.
