IPMA raises orange warning of heavy rain in Madeira archipelago

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere – IPMA has just raised the warning to orange for the forecasted precipitation to occur during most of the day this Monday, the 4th, in Madeira and Porto Santo, and also placed the wind under yellow warning in mountainous regions .

The latest update of the IPMA keeps the yellow warning for periods of rain or downpours, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, in force between 6:00 am and 9:00 am and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, but raised the orange between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm for periods of rain or heavy showers, throughout the archipelago of Madeira.

This time, the wind ‘warning’ also joins the wind in the mountainous regions of Madeira, with the issuing of a yellow warning for the strong south / southeast wind, with gusts up to 90 km / h, valid between 9 am and 3 pm Monday.
