Madeira today registered 106 new positive cases to Covid-19, so the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) now counts 4,501 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the regional territory.
These are six imported cases (5 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region and 1 from France) and 100 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases. Epidemiological investigations of the cases are still ongoing.
Also according to the Regional Directorate of Health (DRS) there are two new deaths to report since yesterday, so RAM now accounts for a total of 34 deaths associated with COVID-19.
It should be noted that in the last 24 hours the Region has 122 recovered cases to report, thus counting 2,582 cases recovered from Covid-19.
Also according to the DRS epidemiological bulletin there are 1,885 active cases, of which 111 are imported cases and 1,774 are locally transmitted.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 73 people are hospitalized at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (66 people in a Multipurpose Unit and 7 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19) and 45 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation.
In total, there are 184 new situations that are currently being studied by health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
