There are no classes in all schools in the three high-risk counties

Some schools in the three municipalities in the Autonomous Region of Madeira that are at high risk of transmitting SARS-CoV-2 have already started to inform that they will not resume classes tomorrow.

Following the measures announced by the Regional Government, after the meeting held this Sunday, at Quinta Vigia, it was decided that there are no classes in all schools in the three municipalities – Câmara de Lobos, Funchal and Ribeira Brava – from 4 January and until all teachers and assistants are tested.

The testing teams will start their work tomorrow morning in the three identified municipalities, “with the aim of tracking the more than 6,000 teachers and educational assistants,” said the Regional Government. Tests do not cover students.

The executive foresees that public / private education / teaching establishments in the municipalities of Funchal, Câmara de Lobos and Ribeira Brava, will be prepared for their reopening until January 11, 2021.

It should be noted that until the reopening of the respective educational establishment, a person in charge of education per household, who has to stay at home due to the need to accompany his student (under the age of 12 years), because he attends this establishment education in the 3 municipalities mentioned, you will see your absence from work justified.

In relation to the other education / teaching establishments, in the other counties, they open on the defined calendar, that is, on the 4th of January 2021.
