MANDATORY CURFEW AT 7 PM AND CLOSING AT 6 PM FROM TODAY IN MADEIRA

Today, the Region will have a curfew from 7pm on weekdays, with commercial activities closing an hour earlier at 6pm.

It is recalled that according to the resolution approved last Thursday by the Government Council on measures to control the covid-19 pandemic, as of this Monday, the ban on driving on public roads will be in effect again between 7pm and 5am on weekdays.

Also from today, on weekdays, activities of a commercial, industrial and service nature in the region will have to close at 18:00.

During the week of Carnival, the Regional Government had imposed more restrictive measures, having decreed that between Monday (the 15th) and Friday (the 19th) the curfew would be from 18:00 and the trade and services would have to close one hour before at 5pm.

Since January, at the weekend, the ban on driving on public roads is between 6:00 pm and 5:00 am and commercial, industrial and service activities must close at 5:00 pm.

The president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, has already announced that the restrictions imposed due to the covid-19 pandemic “are to be maintained until after Easter, but each of them will be evaluated week by week”.
