DESIRE TO SHORTEN CURFEW IS “NATURAL”, BUT MEASURES ARE TO BE MAINTAINED, SAYS PEDRO RAMOS

The regional secretary of Health and Civil Protection considers the claim of the Mayor of Porto Santo to shorten the curfew and extend the opening hours of catering and commerce, given the lack of cases on the island, to be “natural”.

On the sidelines of a ceremony to mark the National Blood Donor Day, at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, Pedro Ramos recalled that there are other municipalities that also do not have active cases, such as Porto Moniz, Calheta and Santana, and that five are at risk low / moderate, but advanced measures are to be maintained.

“We cannot take risks that we previously took and the results were not very positive,” said the government official. “As the president of the Regional Government announced, these measures are to be maintained. We are going to start now with new measures with regard to homes, a very vulnerable sector, with regard to education, where there have been some outbreaks, and we are already in the fourth stage of testing in the educational area. “
