EMIR AND FIREFIGHTERS SAVE PATIENT WITH COVID-19 WHO SUFFERED CARDIORESPIRATORY ARREST IN SÃO ROQUE

A sick man who was on prophylactic confinement due to being positive for Sars-cov2 was saved this morning by the EMIR medical team and the pre-hospital team at covid-19 of the Madeiran Voluntary Firefighters (BVM).

The situation, already reported this morning by the JM, occurred at Caminho do Salão, in São Roque.

It is known that the victim, 68 years old, was at home when he suffered a sudden cardiorespiratory arrest (CRP).

The prompt action and assistance of the firefighters and EMIR reversed the PCR, after applying advanced life support maneuvers.

The man entered a critical situation in the emergency room, but already with vital signs.

He is admitted to the multi-purpose intensive care unit of covid-19 at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça in a very serious situation and with a poor prognosis.
