383 UKRAINIANS HAVE FOUND REFUGE IN MADEIRA SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WAR

A total of 383 Ukrainian citizens have settled in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, under the request for international protection, since the beginning of the war between Ukraine and Russia, according to data from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF).

It is recalled that the last update made by the Regional Secretariat for Social Inclusion and Citizenship, carried out on April 7, indicated that 360 citizens of the aforementioned eastern European country had sought our archipelago after the start of the conflict.

The balance of the “SOS Ukraine” operation now indicates that 182 women (47.5%), 78 men (20.4%) and 123 children (32.1%) are in the Region as part of the aforementioned request.

The number of Madeirans who voluntarily expressed their willingness to receive Ukrainian citizens in their homes also increased: it rose from 52 to 66 families.
