Funchal Marina, What will it look like?

I noticed in the comments a few asking what the Marina will look like after the works are complete.

In 2019 images were released of how it will look, but I don’t know if this is still the plan.

        A forest of concrete indeed . With a little more imagination the design could be more attractive.

  2. Well it seems the same thing again and maybe it is difficult to design anything different because of the area .

  3. Foot traffic will stay on the top, like they have for years. Steps are not great for those less mobile.

  4. One assumes that disabled access will be provided.
    Hope they put a handrail along the top edge!
    Like it or not, it’s in the style of the rest of the waterfront now.

  7. Madeira is in danger of losing its old charm. Please keep some of the rustic character of the Island. You must not depend too much on Cruise Ships coming in. Most people enjoy variety when shopping and eating. Keep it all sensible, we’re NOT all millionaires.

    Well unfortunately that is what is happening Madeira is becoming to much expensive even for me that I was born their . I left in 1999 to live in UK and return back to mainland Portugal Sintra 2018 and been visiting my mother in Madeira and isn’t anymore the same .And I think that in case my other goes one day I will keep my memories of the old times and not return back again to much change and commercialize . When I go Madeira it is only to visit my mother and hike nothing else and even that the Madeira hikes are becoming to crowd the ones in Sintra are much better free of crowds and peaceful you have the countryside free of that .
