Funchal in third place among the best European cities for holidays

Funchal came in third place in a survey carried out among British consumers to choose the best European cities for holidays. The survey was carried out last month by the Which platform, with the results being released yesterday.

The survey received 1,637 responses, resulting from 2,458 experiences. The aim was to know the opinion of tourists who traveled in the last two years and stayed at least one night in the destination. In first place of preferences were, with equal score (92%), Krakow (PolandI) and Valencia (Spain), with an approval rate of 92%. Then comes Stockholm (Sweden), with 91%. Funchal is in third place, with the same score as Berlin (Germany) and Seville (Spain).

The survey asked for evaluations on some travel criteria. Funchal received a maximum rating (five stars) for the quality of accommodation and food/drink, a good rating (four stars) for ease of access and a reasonable rating (three stars) for the absence of crowds and commerce. Among the 15 best cities on the list, the capital of Madeira has the most expensive average airfare (170 pounds), but on the other hand, it has a room cost (108 pounds) that is lower than the average.
