Megaoperation leads PJ to search Miguel Albuquerque’s house

President of the Regional Government did not leave the apartment and missed official appointments on the agenda.

The mega-operation launched by the PJ under the supervision of the Central Department of Investigation and Criminal Action in around 50 different locations in the Region took inspectors to the home of the president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque.

This Wednesday morning, the leader of the Madeiran executive did not leave the apartment for official commitments that were on the presidency’s agenda.

The DIÁRIO report found that at 9 am, PJ inspectors accompanied by a magistrate from the Public Ministry entered the apartment, on Estrada Monumental, in the hotel zone of Funchal, armed with a search warrant as part of the mega-operation that is taking place and which involves in total around a hundred judicial and judicial elements.

At the heart of the investigation is the suspicious relationship with the Pestana group – Cristiano Ronaldo’s partners, among other hotels, at the Pestana CR7 Funchal, linked to the sale of a Miguel Albuquerque farm to a real estate fund based in Lisbon, in 2017, for 3.5 million euros, according to CNN this morning.

The investigation began two years later and in March 2021 the PJ had already searched the president of the Regional Government. Quinta do Arco, or Quinta das Rosas, began to be leased to the Pestana group for tourist use – which coincided in time with the renewal of the Madeira Free Trade Zone concession to the Pestana group.
