The firearm used in the robbery has not yet been recovered.
The Judicial Police managed to recover 208 thousand euros of the 214 thousand euros stolen from the bank branch in Câmara de Lobos last Friday.
To DIÁRIO, Ricardo Tecedeiro, coordinator of the Investigation Department of the Madeira Judicial Police, said that the man has no criminal record and that he had the money stored in several compartments of the house.
As reported by the PJ in a statement, the individual’s vehicle was located on Tuesday night, with the collaboration of the Câmara de Lobos PSP, parked next to the suspect’s residence.
The 42-year-old man was arrested this morning, at 7 am, and will now be brought before the investigating judge.
He is 42 years old, and a father of 3 children living in Câmara de Lobos.
