As I expected the warning that had been issued for the heavy rain predicted for Madeira was raised to orange today.
Therefore, the Region is under yellow warning between 00:00 and 6:00 this Saturday, then rising to orange warning until 9:00 pm tomorrow. Then, it drops back to yellow warning until midnight on Sunday, January 14th.
According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the warnings cover the south coast of Madeira and mountainous regions.
As for maritime unrest, the Region remains under yellow warning until midnight on Saturday, January 13th.
