The weather will start to change from today, and yellow warnings are already in place for the North coast, Mountains and Porto Santo.
Today should remain dry on the South coast, but the wind will start to pick up this afternoon, and this is something to watch if travelling, as it could cause airport problems all the way through till Monday morning.
Thursday Friday will be the worse for the rain, especially the North coast, and mountain regions, and expect warnings to be raised to Orange.
The ocean will be rough on the north coast and it’s advised not to go near the sea front and risk life, as we have seen way to many times lately. And which I expect has happened again in São Vicente this weekend.
The problem with these warnings is tourists will not be searching for this kind of thing, so they will not see this. But it comes down to the fact of common sense, which we know many people leave behind also when going on holiday, and switch off totally. The Authorities need to do more with temporary or even permanent signage, and maybe a qr code to scan with all the missing persons stories on it to make people think twice.
