JPP reports case of “user on waiting list for surgery for 20 years”
The leader of the JPP, Élvio Sousa, went public this Sunday to denounce an “alarming case of a person who has been waiting for surgery for two decades”.
Through a statement, the party says that, after a service this week, “characteristic of the proximity work carried out by JPP”, Élvio Sousa received the information, “duly proven”, from a user who confirmed that he had been on the list for 20 years waiting for surgery.
(In my opinion, it is likely that a significant number of individuals will experience extended wait times for surgical procedures as a consequence of the recent cyberattack on the healthcare system. Additionally, I have received information suggesting that a substantial amount of patient data was unfortunately lost and could not be recovered. Consequently, if you are currently awaiting a surgical procedure, I strongly advise you to verify that your information is still accurately recorded in the system.)
The deputy left some questions: “How can we trust two government officials, Miguel Albuquerque and Pedro Ramos, who leave a person waiting for surgery for 20 years? This is unspeakable, this cannot happen!”
