‘The Trash Traveler’ begins awareness walk in Madeira

The environmental activist ‘The Trash Traveler’ will travel the coast of the island of Madeira, starting today, May 20th, with the aim of raising awareness about the protection of the oceans.

After traveling the 1152 km of the Portuguese mainland coast in 2020, this year The Ocean Hike challenge will take place on Madeira Island, Porto Santo and Desertas Islands with cleaning walks/collection of marine litter and awareness raising activities with NGOs, schools, institutions and the general public.

The walk in Madeira starts at 2pm today at Almirante Reis.
