Dozens of Portuguese caravels on Caniçal beach

Tobi Hughes·7th May 2025
Madeira News

Dozens of Portuguese caravels washed ashore on Caniçal beach today.

The images of the marine animals were sent to JM and show the presence of the Portuguese man-of-war on the rocks. This is a poisonous species, and contact with its tentacles is considered dangerous, as they can cause serious skin reactions.
