IASAÚDE EXPLAINS THE ORIGIN OF CASES OF LOCAL TRANSMISSION

Of the 13 new cases of covid-19 recorded today in Madeira, seven are locally transmitted.

In relation to these cases, the report released a few moments ago by IASAÚDE states that the epidemiological investigation of one of the recently diagnosed cases made it possible to identify some risk contacts, having today identified a number of positive cases that include two workers from the Social Security Institute of Madeira and three members of the household of one of these professionals (namely two young students and another adult).

As a result of this situation, the Madeira Social Security Institute, two schools in the municipality of Funchal and the Municipality of this municipality, were informed, which activated the respective contingency plans.

The epidemiological investigation of another confirmed case this week also made it possible to identify yet another positive case, which will be the source of the transmission. The epidemiological investigation of this case is ongoing.

Another case of local transmission was identified today, in association with a newly diagnosed imported case. He is a young man who was already being accompanied by the health authorities and remained in isolation for a week, after contact with the imported case.

  2. It looks like the UK will be going into National lockdown. To be announced next week according to the Daily Mail .

  3. While walking into Funchal from the Casino area at 0850 this morning (30 Oct) I passed a group of about 15 students who were standing close together talking. Not one was wearing a mask. I walked through the city and many people were not masked. I thought it was now mandatory to mask up when close to others and in busy streets.

  4. It seems to me that it is selfish and irresponsible for anyone to travel here or anywhere else on holiday from countries where C19 is running out of control (like the UK) currently. Please have a thought for others.

    I read that COVID-21 is on its way, but that the common flu is basically gone from the statistics.

    That’s fortunate, as the flu used to kill more people, at least double the number, than Covdi-19, some years even TEN time more dead than Covid-19.

    Logic would say, that when we have a vaccine for COVID-21, we have to continue quarantining because we just did not take the Flu serious enough and many people died, without the society protecting the weak and elderly,

    The COVID-19 lockdown must be made permanent and travel in general, a thing of the past.

    How important can a holiday be, if you risk infecting the indigenous population with cold or flu. You should not go outside your house.

    We must have Health-passports and install medical surveillance scanners, all over the places where people meet and tracing apps must be compulsory on all people leaving their premises and there by, be a hazard to the general public.

    As soon as we get rid of restaurants and nightlife we will see a dramatic improvement in the general populations health.

    Society must ban all the damaging practices to health and the climate and it’s time alcohol and tobacco was bannned once and for all.

    Think of the children and all the Co2 wasted producing alcohol and lighting up the city a night.

    Society needs healthy citizens and a climate without changes.

    COVID has shown us, that we don’t need travel, eating and partying to function as efficient and responsible workers.

    The Great Reset is just around the corner, and we will be much happier, without all this hedonism and lack of climate responsibility, inherently missing in the concept of tourism

    Social distancing must be permanent,as should masks are,even when the vaccine arrives.
