The Faialense population woke up today to a Fortim do Faial that was padlocked to the public. The situation was made known to the Jornal Madeira this morning and is generating an echo in the inhabitants of the parish.
The reasons for the closure are not yet known.
Fortim do FaiaI is, since 1996, considered a ‘Monument of Local Value’.
