The Ponta do Sol Municipal Garden hosts every Sunday, from 9 am to 1 pm, the Expo-Agrícola, an event of the Municipality of Ponta do Sol, organized by @OmniArtisan.
The initiative, informs the organization on social networks, has the collaboration of the Ponta do Sol Parish Council, OmniArtisan and OrganicA and emerges from the need to adapt the community to new market dynamics, positioning the trade from a globalisation perspective, closer, creating new strategies for the dissemination of locally produced products.
“It will include a number of awareness-raising initiatives, including changing chemical-free agriculture; boosting a local and circular economy with particular attention to the promotion of selective waste collection, focusing on organics and consequent composting; sharing awareness; / leasing land and / or equipment, as well as the development of ongoing studies / surveys to assess real demand and local supply, “he adds.
On site, a variety of products such as pumpkin, apple, sweet potato, spinach, banana and olive oil will be available, depending on the season and offer.
The Market, being organized by the Municipality, has a social and community nature, allowing producers / farmers and subsistence artisans, who live in the municipality, to participate.
The organization asks those interested in attending the event to bring their reusable bags and, if they have bottles they do not need, to take them and make them available to the jelly / sauces / preserves producers.
