“Clean & Safe” is the new label created by the Instituto de Turismo de Portugal in order to avoid contamination of spaces with COVID-19.
In this sense, Turismo de Portugal recognizes to the Travel Agency “Pearl of the Atlantic Madeira” the guarantee that it meets the requirements demanded by the Health Authority of Portugal (DGS) in an internal hygiene protocol that aims to avoid the risks of contagion from Covid-19.
The manager of Pearl of the Atlantic Madeira, in contact with Madeira Island News, assured that all its customers will be subject to compliance with the rules established by the Health Authority of Portugal, such as the use of masks, disinfectant gel and temperature control.
With this measure, the National Tourist Authority intends not only to provide companies with information on the necessary hygiene and cleaning measures, but also to promote Portugal / Madeira as a safe tourist destination from the point of view of avoiding the spread of the virus.
This measure was promoted by Tourism Board of Portugal and involved the Agency for Administrative Modernization (AMA), the General Directorate of Economic Activities (DGAE), the Mobility and Transport Institute (IMT), the Mobility and Transport Authority (AMT) and in conjunction with the Confederation of Tourism of Portugal (CTP) and the industry associations, to raise awareness of this extremely important sector in the country’s economy.
In the future, random audits will be carried out on establishments that join the initiative.
