  1. I would definitely be looking for holidays whenever it is possible to do so but if the price has increased astronomically then I would think twice about booking.

  2. Flights to Madeira are generally expensive compared to e.g. flights to Canaries. Should those costs significantly increase it would likely deter many from choosing Madeira as a destination.

  3. Cruise ships are anchored in our local sea near Weymouth Dorset at least 6 due to cancelled bookings. Been there for some weeks. No news when Easyjet tends to resume flights as yet. Bristol Airport is in a low area for the virus to date. The south west of England has had relatively low outbreak and deaths.

  4. We usually book as soon as the flights are issued , the flights are less money than if you wait until the last minuet, we are fortunate in that we can choose the flights on the cheapest days , sometimes it means we have to stay an extra week. We come to Maderia twice a year

  5. Until arrival restrictions (currently 100 / week) are lifted and the quarantine is removed. Nobody is coming to Madeira. Cheap or expensive.
    There are thousands of timeshare owners who have paid for their weeks and dearly wish to use them. I am sure they will travel.

    1. We are in exactly the same situation and following developments anxiously.
      Will all the timeshare hotels reopen I wonder?

  7. No one seems to consider Travel Insurance and the FCO statements . If the FCO says don’t go you will not be covered for Insurance ,repatriation etc .Most insurances are discussing cover for Covid or not .

  8. The way the world going I can see prices going up. Food or airlines. Everything will be cut to meet health and safety with profits be dropping. in the process. Business you can guarantee will raise costs to make profit. or sink. Its a new world

  9. Once the restrictions and quarantine in particular are lifted we hope to resume our normal Madeira holidays. However, if the flight costs are hiked ‘significantly’ as suggested then instead of Spring, late Summer and Christmas visits (1 week for each) then regretfully we will have to restrict to 1 week starting next Spring 2021, and then look for another holiday destination that doesn’t attract such exorbitant flight costs. I really hope we aren’t forced into doing so . . .

  10. I booked for for a low price. I hope I can travel then by that time. I fly with Transavia from the Netherlands.

We visit Madeira 3-4 times a year spending probably the best part of £8k there with the airline and hotel, we won’t be going anywhere in any multi-occupancy transport systemuntil there’s a vaccine available and we’ve been treated, it only needs one person to be sat near you on the aircraft or in the restaurant for it to be ‘good night Vienna’.

  13. My flights have been booked since January and we are due to come out June 27th, I am hopeful that we will be able to travel as planned.

  14. Until it is deemed safe to travel with no restrictions, we will not be going anywhere. If the cost of travel to Madeira goes up beyond a reasonable level, we will look for another hideaway spot. As mentioned by others, the cost of travel insurance may well be another factor that will have to be taken into account. Sad times.
