“Miguel Albuquerque is not capable of continuing to be President of the Government”

To right he should be ashamed of everything that happened yesterday and just go, as guilty as them all.

The Liberal Initiative considers that “Miguel Albuquerque is not capable of continuing to be President of the Government”, taking into account the fact that he has been accused.

Deputy Nuno Morna admits that being accused does not diminish his rights, “but he must recognize that his legitimacy, in the eyes of public opinion, is profoundly affected”.

Therefore, he calls for the resignation of the president of the Regional Government of Madeira, in the name of “transparency and ethics”.

  1. I was not surprised to hear this stunning and profoundly troubling news. Politicians and ‘elected’ ministers, and, Capitalist Oligarchs (Corporative Executives etc.), connected to and involved in various levels of corruption and possibly money laundering (I accept, that these are all allegations pending investigation), however if we really open our eyes and survey with critical eyes and minds the manifestations of constructions, real estate proliferation, rampant tourism, drug trafficking, exploitation of imported and home labour (with all it’s victims), both past and present as well as ongoing future continuations and developments, we can see (without too much difficulty, in terms of objective and critical judgement), the gradual social and ‘eco’ decline of this beautiful island.
    It is the Madeiran people who are being ‘screwed’ into the ground by a fat clique elite of mouth slavering crooks (criminals awaiting identification).
    These phenomena have not been born on this island, rather they have been imported and forced upon the indigenous peoples, turning them into slaves.
    Madeira needs to ‘wake up’ and put an end to this self gratifying and gorging Capitalism. There needs to be common sense, with an emphasis on the people of Madeira, their lives, and the ecology and environment, a society based on individual and collective responsibility from the top to the bottom.
