The New Year’s Eve celebrations in Madeira may be under threat. At issue is a depression that the IPMA (Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere) has just named Francis. Rain, wind, and rough seas could replace the gatherings and the much-anticipated fireworks display.
We will keep a close eye on this over the coming couple of days.
The bad news is the winds, which is believe could cause major problems at the airport, as they will be cross winds on 31st and 1st Jan.
