138 New Cases of Covid-19 for Madeira

Today there are 138 new positive cases to report, so the Region now counts 3777 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate, there are 7 imported cases (3 from Germany, 1 from Lithuania, 1 from Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 1 from the Central Region and 1 from the Northern Region of Portugal) and 131 cases of local transmission, “mostly already associated with positive case contacts or contexts. Epidemiological investigations of cases are still ongoing”.

The bulletin refers to the two deaths recorded today, recalling that the Region accounts, to date, a total of 31 deaths associated with COVID-19.

With 81 recovered cases to be reported (2,011 cases recovered to date), DRS reports that 1,735 active cases are accounted for today, of which 112 are imported cases and 1623 are cases of local transmission.

“Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 73 people are hospitalized (69 people in Multipurpose Units and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) and 43 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in accommodation own. ”

DRS adds that, in total, there are 153 new situations that are currently being studied by health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. “Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.”
